Illustration

Hey everyone. If you don't know, I started working as a concept artist for a video game company called Idol Minds a few weeks ago. It's pretty awesome. I just get to hang out and draw all day:) So, it turns out that the real world isn't so scary after all! Anyway, here are some illustrations I did on the last set of EverquestII: Legends of Norrath online trading card game for Sony Online Entertainment. Big thanks to Derek Herring, who has helped me out a lot over the course of my illustration career so far, and has generously passed some of his knowledge and expertise my way. I have learned a ton while doing these illustrations and have worked really hard to continue to improve and build my skill set- which, I think, is starting to pay off a little. Enjoy.

Demo Reel
Well, here's my graduating demo reel. It's comprised of mostly student projects and personal studies and experiments. Several of the images you see at the beginning and the end were created for, and are the property of Sony Online Entertainment. Although this is the end of school, I feel like I have really just finished building a good foundation to jump off of from and to really start to gain some headway in my studies. It is exciting to know that there is so much left to learn and, so much room left to grow from here. I hope you enjoy what I've come up with so far. Thanks for looking!

Zbrush: the Oldness

Some practice for an assignment in which we have to take a model of ourselves and make ourselves old. It's fun so far, and I can't wait to do more. It's always exciting being able to develop totally new skills in a program like this that is so different than your usual 3D packages. It is a thrilling escape from the boredom that you get from pushing vertices around all day. The base mesh was modeled a couple years ago now (in 3DS Max), at which time I was actually that thin and much less skilled in the art of modeling. It seems to do the job though.
